The KNOW presents “P.O.P.” by KAVI
in partnership with RMA of New York at Mount Sinai
[New York, NY — May 9, 2021]
In celebration of womanhood, we are pleased to announce “P.O.P.” by KAVI, an art exhibition launching on Mother’s Day in partnership with RMA of New York, “the cornerstone in fertility care for Mt. Sinai health system.”
Born in Bombay and raised in LA, KAVI’s mission as an artist is to explore juxtaposed societies and cross-cultural boundaries, with reference to autobiographical and personal influences. KAVI and Dr. Tanmoy Mukherjee of RMA’s collaboration is rooted in their Southeast Asian heritage and experiences with IVF, and a portion of all artwork sales will benefit fertility and family planning initiatives. RMA of New York has been consistently ranked amongst New York Magazine’s “Top Doctors” for 18 years.
Of the exhibition, Dr. Mukherjee shared, “KAVI’s elegant composition and use of color explores and celebrates the Indian American experience. Her personal, professional, and artistic journey is on full display in these lovely paintings. I am proud to have “P.O.P.” on display at RMA of New York.”
KAVI is a mother of two and her work has been shown at Bloomingdale’s (2019), Saks Fifth Avenue (2019-2020), SCOPE Miami Beach (2019). It is also on view as a permanent installation at GupShup New York (115 East 18th St, New York) and will be featured in the upcoming season of Bravo’s “Family Karma.” Read more about Kavi x RMA at Forbes.com.

ABOUT KAVI (https://www.iamkavi.com/)
Inspired by the eloquent and lively music of the 1960’s and its efficacious voice for Cultural Revolution, as well as her own heritage, visual artist Kavi (Bombay, India) began her artistic career in 2003 as a Californian teenager. In 2017, Kavi decided she was ready to share her creative vision and start telling her story. Today, she has developed a distinctive style involving a multi-layered approach which gives her the ability to encapsulate political phrases and poetry into each of her creative works. Kavi’s mixed-media art is unpredictable and possesses its own energy, her dedication and talent having allowed her to excel as an artist creating pieces that have generated great interest among collectors and gallerists alike. Kavi lives in Daytona Beach, Florida. She sits on the board of the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens, and is also part of the organization Art in the Alley Daytona, which is revitalizing the downtown with public art and murals.
